In 2010, the preparation of the World Green Design Forum started under the support and advocacy of Mr. Lu Yongxiang, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People’s Congress of China and the Former President of Chinese Academy of Science.

In 2011, the 1st World Green Design Forum was held in Lugano, Switzerland.

In 2012, the 2nd World Green Design Forum was held in European Parliament building in Brussels.

In May, 2013, the World Green Design Forum was held in Yangzhou, and during the same period, the World Green Design expo was held. In October, the World Green Design Forum was held in Brussels. Since then, the World Green Design Forum has had two parallel forums held in China and Europe respectively.

In September 2013, WGDO was registered in Belgium.

In June, 2014, the World Green Design Forum was held in Yangzhou, and during the same period, the World Green Design expo was held. In October, the World Green Design Forum was held in Freiburg.

In May, 2015, the World Green Design Forum was held in Yangzhou, and during the same period, the World Green Design expo was held. In October, the World Green Design Forum was held in Milan and was registered as the Green Design and Research Institute (Tianjin).

In March, 2016, the Beijing-tianjin-hebei green development conference of the World Green Design Forum was held. In May, the World Green Design Forum was held in Yangzhou, and during the same period, the World Green Design expo was held. The publication of the “2016 China Green Design Report” was issued.
